Flipping the House with Ann Johnson

Updated: Aug 18, 2020

Texas Family Project is proud to announce our endorsement and selection of Ann Johnson, who is running for HD 134 Representative, as another winner of our Find the Nine Campaign. We believe that Flipping the Texas House WILL impact Texans lives for the next 10 years. It is one of the most important things we can accomplish in 2020! And we believe that Ann Johnson will make a difference in Harris county and help to turn Texas BLUE.

Ann Johnson is a native Houstonian who has spent her career fighting for Texans, both in her early work as Harris County’s chief human trafficking prosecutor and in her work today representing the impoverished in our criminal justice system.

Ann is running to represent House District 134 because we deserve a better advocate in the state legislature, one who will help our community overcome this crisis. She has a long history of standing up for the most vulnerable in our community – standing up to the worst human traffickers to protect child victims of exploitation. She is a cancer survivor who will be a relentless advocate in the legislature to expand health care, restore a woman’s right to choose, pass common-sense gun safety reforms, improve public education and fight for our kids. 2020 was always going to be an important election.

Next year, state legislators will redraw our political maps for the next decade. Texas Progressives have a strong chance to take back the State House, fight for fair maps, and provide a check on Governor Abbott and his right-wing agenda. Now, the stakes are higher than ever. Ann Johnson is the right state representative for our district.
